The installation of windows in a wooden house has a number of features that must be taken into account in order to avoid negative consequences in the future. Before installing windows in a wooden building, especially made of logs, it must be allowed to stand for several years. This main condition will allow to dry out excess moisture in the tree and sit at home. Windows installed in compliance with the rules described in our article will keep warm and delight owners for many years.
Installation of windows in a wooden house, what technology is worth sticking to
When the house of logs or beams has stood for several years, and shrinkage has occurred, you can start the process of installing windows. Following the technology of installing windows in wooden houses and buildings, casing is necessarily inserted into the window apertures, which is also called a window. This design allows you to separate the structure of the window from the walls of the house, and neutralize the possible loads from a larger drawdown at home or repainting the walls. Follow the advice of Dekorin and then installing the windows in a wooden house will not be difficult.
A window in a wooden house allows:
- Avoid possible shifting of logs or timber through the window;
- To sit walls vertically without creating a load on the window;
- Strengthen the walls near the window aperture

Casing options for installing windows:
There are several options for casing, depending on the type of window being inserted:
- Casing "In the mortgage bar"
This version of the casing is suitable for windows made of wood. Here, at the ends of the logs of the window opening, a groove is cut out, after which a 50 × 50 mm bar is mounted in it. Joints between logs and a beam are filled with a heater. The window itself is made in the form of a letter "P" from boards of size 50 × 150mm or 50 × 200mm, and then mounted in the window aperture.
- Casing "In the thorn-monolith"
The "spike-monolith" casing is carried out in the same way as in the first case, however, it differs in the sequence of installation. Here, the side elements of the casing are initially installed, after which a heater is laid at the joints. The upper jumper is fixed between the lateral elements of the window.
- Siege «In Colloo»
