When a child at the age of eight gets his first bedroom, which, in fact, is not much more than a wardrobe, he still gets a love for this modest corner, because he becomes the owner of his own space for the first time.

Independently or with the help of friends, he tries to optimally place things to get the maximum benefit from every centimeter.

As a rule, as a result of the experience gained, it is these people who become avid lovers of not huge, luxurious mansions, but modest little houses that look nicer and more attractive to them, and also do less harm to the surrounding nature.

There are also such situations that this is the only option of housing that a person can afford. However, there are many tricks that can increase and revitalize even a tiny space.

When the area is not enough, rooms must perform double functions. There should not be any useless spaces, like the living room, which is used only for the reception of the company. In the absence of guests it should be a home theater. And the TV set near one of the walls will distract attention to itself, forcing less to pay attention to the surrounding space.

You can also hide the TV in a closet or furniture, for example, cover it with doors over a fireplace, which is much nicer to look at than a black plastic screen.

In this one-room apartment, the living room is also used as a home office. It looks harmonious, since the desktop is finished using the same materials and color shades as the walls, so it does not immediately strike the eye. A soft work chair also creates the illusion of a usual place to relax.

Pay attention to the use of storage cubes instead of the usual coffee table, which during the visit guests can be used as padded stools.

No space for the work area? With modern laptops, any surface can be used as a table top - even a sofa. To do this, you just need to push the nearest chair to it.

When the space is too tight, ask yourself: which two functions can be used instead of one in this room? For example, a dining room can be successfully used as a library. This saves square meters, and most importantly, gives the room warmth and softness.

The living room seems bigger, if there is nothing for which the gaze could catch on. In this case, instead of sofas, a pair of couches without backs are used, so that behind them are visible walls and exits to other rooms, which visually makes it larger.

The same theory applies to tables. The coffee table in this room is precisely made of glass, so that it visually takes up less space. And curtains, suspended close to the ceiling, make you think that it is higher than it really is.

If one room is multifunctional, use carpets to highlight individual zones, and not as walls or partitions that attract attention and reduce the room.

The built-in modules, as in the following illustration, occupy a smaller area than ordinary pieces of furniture. They fit organically into the surrounding space, filling it less. In addition, they are often equipped with additional storage systems.

Is it not possible to organize a separate room for guests? Consider the option of a folding bed. In the furniture market, a large number of different designs are offered, capable of disguising themselves under the circumstances, if necessary, decomposing only at the request of the owners.

When furniture is allocated too small footage, you can use compact objects equipped with thin legs. Then under them the floor is visible, and a feeling is created that they are floating in the air. This is also one of the tricks of visual increase in the residential area.

Mirrors dissolve the boundaries of the room and reflect light, expanding the dwelling and making it lighter. It is not necessary to limit yourself to a single mirror, as you can place them on opposite sides of the room, significantly increasing its size.

Forget the old saying that small rooms should be painted in light color. If you paint them in dark colors, the corners seem to disappear, hiding the boundaries and making them almost invisible. In addition, these interiors look very cozy, having a truly relaxing holiday.
