Russian architectural firm Remistudio adopted the concept of man-made biospheres and went on a voyage with his vision of a floating hotel "Hotel Ark". Designed to withstand floods, tsunamis and rising ocean levels, as well as earthquakes and other natural disasters. Hotel will float, and function independently on the surface of the reservoir, providing a green, self-sustaining environment for guests who could live there for a very long time, a kind of lifeboat for humanity in the event of an apocalypse.
Design has a bearing system of arches and cables that provide an even weight distribution to resist earthquakes, while the constituent elements allow for quick and easy assembly of the structure. The project also includes photoelectric solar batteries, rainwater harvesting and cleaning systems, as well as a module for processing waste products.
The Ark was developed by Remistudio with the assistance of the International Union of Architects of the program "Architecture for Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters".Photogallery Total | 1 photos
