The old apartment for a large family in Sao Paulo, Brazil, went to the owner by inheritance. A complex layout and an abundance of partitions made it look like a student hostel. Before the talented collective FC Studio the customer was tasked to create an open and functional bachelor dwelling. Thus, the Maranhão Apartment project was born, which will be discussed today.

Reconstruction began by dismantling unnecessary elements followed by reinforcement with concrete structures. This allowed to unite the disparate volumes and get a single space. Long horizontal shelves pass from the living room to the kitchen, emphasizing their logical connection. Instead of one dominant tone in the interior there are several strong color accents - an unusual kitchen unit looks fresh and elegant. Above the dining table are 4 different Beat Light lamps from Tom Dixon - they visually break the huge plane of the snow-white ceiling.

There is a lot of wood and concrete in the finish, which is emotionally compensated by bright furniture and accessories.
