Concept camera duo from the designer chin-wei liao

Looking through the majority of photo albums, you will notice how many pictures do not have the photographer himself. Designer Chin-Wei Liao created a concept that allows the photographer to get into the frame. Duo splits into two cameras in order to take a picture from two different points of view simultaneously.

Shooting two scenes at once

The whole concept is aimed at giving photographers a great emotional connection with the other participants of the photo. The basic idea is for the photographer to participate in their own photos, but a pair of synchronized cameras can be useful for taking a double perspective in almost any position.

When using Duo, a person can, for example, simultaneously capture the image of a group and the audience at a concert. The idea is quite interesting, although a similar effect can be achieved through an application that synchronizes, using wireless technologies, camera phones, or by remote launching multiple cameras. Liao built a working prototype of wood, which, at the moment, requires a wired connection to the computer, but the designer told that he plans to work on the prototype further. Watch the video below to see how a prototype Duo camera can capture two scenes at a time.
