If you want to create visual images, then you can draw anything: paints, pencils, ink, chalk, even your fingers on the misted glass. But drawing with light is a special mysticism. Even the very expression "drawing by light" seems to be something fantastic, unprecedented, there is something at the same time from Paustovsky and from Maeterlinck. So in the hands of a skilful photographer the ordinary flashlight turns into a magic wand, and the camera becomes the magician's hat, whence easy movement is extracted the most unthinkable pictures - this is how a miracle of freezes is born - pictures painted with light and fixed with a "queue" camera. This experiment on the border of art and technology, first done by Pablo Picasso half a century ago and not appreciated by his contemporaries, broke into modern reality and poeticized urban culture.
