Of course, in a standard apartment of Soviet construction does not make a multi-level redevelopment. But if you, for example, are going to build a new house, then, at the current prices for land, this option will give you the opportunity to significantly increase the living space. Such a restructuring is also good in the "old fund", in houses with high ceilings. It will allow not only to expand the space, but also to use one room for different purposes.

The second floor of the apartment can become a true decoration of your home, and also help to solve the emerging problems with planning. On it you can easily arrange a bedroom, library, work area or winter garden.

Designed by designers Jose Maria Saez and Daniel Moreno Flores, this version is made of natural wood and is located above the kitchen-dining room. Neat, quite original, with natural lighting through a panoramic window, in our climatic zone it is quite suitable for a summer house or as a second floor in a cafe.

In the house offered by the architect Carter-Williams, the bedroom, located on the second level, creates a visual feel of the studio apartment.

In this small (only 29 square meters) Polish apartment design firm 3XA on the second floor is equipped with a bedroom with a huge bed located directly above the bathroom and hallway.

In the project for the restructuring of the Oriental Warehouse Loft, a historic building in San Francisco, the specialists of the Italian House Studio by Studioata completely redesigned the loft completely unnecessary in the apartment for a residential area. Architects Edmonds and Lee presented a second bedroom, a bath and a library. Here the space is enlarged and due to glass fences, transparent walls in the bathroom. Which, of course, deprives the owner of such an apartment of private life, but at the same time gives a sense of freedom. The combination of heavy wooden floors and the abandoned old brick with a smooth light modern finish, transparent glass panels and a steel, as if weightless, staircase, make the house a little strange, but absolutely unique and unique.

The dark walls, the white ceiling, the contrast of wood and metal, the sharp separation of the main space and the additional level are represented in this apartment in Unité d'Habitation - the house known in Marseilles, built by the architect Le Corbusier.

Here is another version of the two-level housing represented by the Italian firm Studioata. Clearly separated from the rest of the room by a contrasting wooden shelf, adorned with a floating staircase, this home office adds individuality to the usual studio apartment.

Such an unusual bathroom was created by the Dutch architects Leijh, Kappelhof, Seckel, van den Dobbelsteen. In this work, the top floor is again converted from the attic of the old house.

The project of Maxim Zhukov is also interesting. It roughly combines gray stone, wood and metal. A floating staircase, a simple platform, as if loosely hanging over the bed and the correct orientation to the windows make the home cabinet very peculiar.

And this apartment is created in the attic of the former convent, located in the Val-d'Ois north of Paris. A cozy lounge area is located above the kitchen and a spacious dining area.

Such an apartment in Toronto offers a design firm Buildall Construction. The upper level in it is represented by a bedroom above a voluminous dressing room.

The balance between the dark floor, white walls, glass rails and a floating oak staircase - all this is in the design of the famous American architect Paul Rudolph.

The creative bath above the chic bed is presented by the English company Wells Mackereth. In this bed, located under the upper tier, is as if in a niche, which, undoubtedly, adds intimacy to this free and bright room.

An elegant, clear-cut cabinet is an excellent choice for people working at home. Thin handrails give more light, as if expanding the boundaries of space and filling the entire room with light and air.

Here is another version of a two-level apartment with glass railings, created by the Spanish designer Luis Puerta. A wonderful method to expand the house, while sharing different rooms.

This house with a dining room and a kitchen downstairs and a seating area upstairs is rebuilt from a chapel in Wiltshire.

"Nothing superfluous" is the motto of the Japanese designer Naoko Horib. The second level here is delimited by two internal balconies.

The dining room is downstairs, the library is on the second level and the bedroom is on the third. Such an excellent solution is feasible, true, only in a room with really very high ceilings.
