According to the representative of the Bavarian concern, a BMW customer residing in Europe will have to pay for a hybrid supercar BMW i8 not less than €100 000. The car will be equipped with a 3-cylinder petrol engine in volume of 1.5 liters, developing 220 hp. 300 Nm, and a 129-horsepower electric motor. The first power unit is responsible for driving the wheels of the rear axle, the second - for the front wheels.
The Bavarian company stated that model i8 combines the dynamics of leading supercars and economy small cars. From 0 to 100 km / h two-door BMW accelerates in less than 5 seconds, and the average fuel consumption per 100 km of run in the combined cycle does not exceed 3.3 liters.
Annually, BMW plans to sell up to 10,000 copies of the i8 model, which will go on sale next year. At one time with i8 in the market will appear and electric car i3 with body made of aluminum and carbon. The car is equipped with engine capacity of 170 hp and a torque of 250 Nm. The price of an electric BMW will be about $ 35 000.
