Power stations are not the most fascinating and original buildings in the world. We used to see something big and smoking when we hear the word "power station" and usually characterize it with pollution. However, the guys from the studio Centerbrook Architects and Planners have developed the Hotchkiss Biomass Power Plant - a unique project located on an area of 16,500 square feet, impressive for its ingenious architecture and environmentally friendly features.
For power generation, the power plant uses wood chips, which is carbon neutral fuels, according to the measurements of the international climate change control group. In this area, wood chips are a by-product of wood processing. With such fuel, the most dramatic the emission of sulfur dioxide is reduced by more than 90%. Ash waste is collected for reuse as a fertilizer for neighboring vegetable gardens.
The power plant is located in Leukville, Connecticut, USA. Outwardly, it is very well integrated into the surrounding landscape, which makes it very pleasant and not an outstanding construction in the area. The building is very similar to the golf course.
