In recent years, LED lamps are gaining popularity and are rapidly supplanting traditional incandescent lamps. The reason for this was a large number of advantages of LED (Light emitting diode) lamps, the main of which is their economy, and the emergence of inexpensive Chinese solutions. Today, a dozen manufacturers and a large assortment of models of LED led lamps with different characteristics are presented on the market, which not everyone can understand. That is why, in order to facilitate the selection of analogs for your incandescent lamps, we decided to make this article. In our material you will find out what types of LED lamps are and their features, and also understand why the LED lamp is better than a traditional lamp.
LED bulbs: pros and cons
Advantages of LED lamps with respect to incandescent lamps:
- Economy (more brightness at lower power);
- Possibility to choose a lamp according to the temperature of light: with a warm, neutral or cold glow;
- A rugged body allows you not to be afraid of the possibility of breaking a lamp;
- No flicker of light in high-quality LED lamps;
- Do not be afraid of frequent on and off lights;
- No loss of energy to heat the lamp body;
- Resistant to voltage drops;
- A significantly longer service life, which reaches 30,000 hours of continuous operation
Disadvantages of LED lamps with respect to incandescent lamps:
High cost, which, however, pays off significantly longer life and savings on electricity bills
LED Bulb for Home
So, how to choose the LED lamp for your apartment? First of all, it is necessary to decide for which room the lamp will be purchased, and also what kind of lighting you need: the main light or an additional one. Knowing these parameters, you can choose the power, type of cap, the value of the light flux and the angle of dispersion. To better understand which LED lamps for a house is better to choose, you need to understand their parameters.
Power LED Bulbs
Previously, buying a new incandescent bulb for the house, people, traditionally, relied on the indicator of its capacity: for a spacious room took 100-watt lamps, and for a small room - for 40 or 60 watts. Now, when choosing an economical lamp for the house, you can easily get confused, because different energy-saving lamps, with a similar value of the light flux, have different power. For example, a 100-watt incandescent bulb corresponds to a 30-watt fluorescent lamp or a 14-watt LED bulb. To properly choose the power of an LED lamp similar to an incandescent lamp, there is a simple rule: you need the power of the last divided by 8.
LED lamp base
LED Bulb for Home
Lamp base:
E27 is the most common base that is used to produce a large number of varieties of lamps: incandescent lamps, LED lamps, halogen lamps, fluorescent lamps, discharge lamps, etc. The LED lamps e27 are suitable for most chandeliers and lamps, so they are most often bought to replace previously installed incandescent lamps.
E14 (also referred to as the "minion") is one of the most common types of lamp bases, which is often found in modern lighting fixtures.
G10 is a two-prong cap of capsule lamps, which are used in reflective luminaires to illuminate working surfaces.
GU5.3 is a socket with two pins, used for reflector lamps.
G13 - this is the base, which is usually used for office lighting fixtures. Lamps LED g13 are a modern analogue of obsolete fluorescent fluorescent lamps.
Supply voltage of LED lamps
Most LED lamps are available for 12V and 220V operating voltage, and have a difference in the way they are powered. Since the LEDs work exclusively on direct current, they need a DC power supply, also called a "driver". LED lamps 220 V are equipped with an integrated driver, so they are immediately ready to work in the luminaire. Lamps for 12 V already require a separate external power supply, which converts the alternating voltage of 220 V into a constant 12 V.
Temperature of the world
A feature of LED lamps is such a characteristic as the temperature of light, which is measured in Kelvin. The higher the value, the colder the light. Three types of lamps are produced, however, the indicator of the temperature of light for different manufacturers may differ slightly:
- 2700K are lamps with a warm shade of light, similar to classic incandescent lamps. The yellowish light of LED lamps with such a light temperature has a calming effect, so it is advisable to put them in the bedroom.
- 4100K are white LED lamps, with natural daylight. These lamps are excellent for office space, where you need to keep the body in good spirits.
- 6400K are lamps with a bright bluish light, making the surrounding colors brighter and more saturated. Lamps with this color temperature are suitable for exhibition halls and galleries
LED Led Lamp for Car
LED LED lamps are ideal not only for lighting the rooms, but also have proven themselves as a light source in car headlights. Quality lighting for the car directly affects safety, therefore, many drivers replace them with standard halogen lamps in headlamps for modern, low-power.
For cars in which headlights are installed on one double-lamp H4, which is responsible for near and far light, similar LED lamps h4 will be used for replacement. For the same headlamps, where two lamps are installed, separately for dipped and driving lights, you need to use LED lamps h7 and h15, respectively.
LED lamps and their construction
LED lamps are available in a variety of shapes, ranging from the classic "pear" ball or "candle", where the LEDs are located inside a special circuit board, ending with a form such as "corn", where the LEDs are located like grains on the same vegetable.
Not so long ago, there was a technology for manufacturing LED lamps called Filament led, or, as it is also called, LED incandescent lamps. In such lamps, miniature LED elements are laid on a special substrate with a phosphor coating, which in appearance is very similar to the filament. In the best LED lamps, this substrate can be made of artificial sapphires, which will make it possible to achieve its ideal transparency, and hence - uniform luminescence. Lamps of this type are perfect for retro-style lamps.
Dimmable LED bulbs
For people who are accustomed to controlling the brightness of light in their apartment, special dimmable LED lamps are produced, which constructively allow to regulate the illumination in the range from 10 to 100%. Note that a conventional non-dimmable LED lamp, when used with a dimmer, will quickly burn out, as it is not designed for this purpose.
LED Downlight
Today, in addition to LEED lamps, a wide range of ready-made LED lamps for various applications is presented on the lighting market, which, in addition, can be protected from moisture and dust:
Recessed fixtures have a visually invisible mount, and are installed in special niches on the ceiling.
LED Downlight настенные монтируются на стенах, и применяются во многих сферах
