The design of the house on stilts, better known as the "Blue Cube", was designed and implemented by the specialists of the architectural company Ahti Westphal. It is located in the north of the United States, in a place called Rainy Lake near the Canadian border.

The main feature of this building is a small veranda, the walls of which are fabric canvases woven of paper strings of bright neon color.

It is very unusual to see such material in combination with simple unplaned boards, of which most of the structure consists. Moreover, in our view of ordinary inhabitants the veranda should be equipped with panoramic glass so that you can admire the stunning scenery surrounding the house. However, the specialists decided that for this locality such a solution would be optimal.

Strong blue fabric, which is the latest development in the field of construction, is distinguished by increased reliability, extraordinary durability, resistance to increased humidity and bright sunlight. Thanks to it, the interior space is filled with a soft blue light, pleasing to the eyes. In addition, through it, everything that happens outside is perfectly visible.

To protect the house from flooding and organically fit into a hilly landscape, one part was placed on piles. This creates a feeling of boundless flight and incredible ease, as if he is about to spread the sails and set out on a voyage.
