Before the renovation, this tiny bathroom looked dull and uninteresting. Her decor was made in muted brown tones. The new owners of the house planned to equip a playroom for their children in the neighborhood, so a cardinal renovation of the interior was required. Designer Rachel Seldin turned a dull, semi-darkened bathroom into a quaint space with powerful energy and bright decor.
Object parameters
- Location: Mill Valley, California.
- Dimensions: 3.7 square meters. meter.
In addition to the modest dimensions and sloppy color palette, Seldin drew attention to the strange, angular configuration of the bathroom. The fact is that the foundation of the house formed a large ledge in the wall from the floor to the window itself.
The designer decided that if you include bright wallpaper with curvilinear ornament in the interior, the space will seem more complex and voluminous. This she once again refuted the claim that saturated prints are inappropriate in compact spaces. In this case, it was the drawing that helped to soften the corners and hide the flaws in the layout.
The wallpaper is protected from steam and spray thanks to a special polyurethane coating.
This room is used by children, so there was no way to do without the bright accessories.
Orange red towel stand, along with colorful hooks enriches the interior with a whole palette of colors.
Lining the tile protrusion in the wall, the designer created a kind of countertop, which is not afraid of moisture and damage.
The combination of design components fills the space with spontaneity and dynamism, which fits perfectly into the concept of decorating a room for children.
