Small two-level apartment in Loft style, New York
A small two-level apartment is an excellent base for the embodiment of the loft-style interior. In the original version, the term loft denotes an attic or an attic. In the forties of the last century in America, the loft style was formed, which involved the re-equipment of industrial premises for housing. In today's story about small interiors about industrial spaces, there will be no speech. But that's about the style of the loft to talk will be quite appropriate.
The area of the small apartment, made in this style, is only 22.3 square meters. It is located on the top floor of an ancient mansion in Manhattan, in the Upper West Side area. To implement the project over the room, the architect Tim Seggerman conjured. In a pair with him worked as a furniture designer George Nakashima. His inspiration was drawn from the Middle Ages. In the production of furniture, different types of wood were used. Cabinets were created from bamboo and cypress, ash and beech were ideal for stairs, and white oak for floors.
It is interesting that even the tiny room authors of the project managed to present two-story. Upstairs is a bedroom and a library, where you can get to unless only crawling. Everything in the vault, including the ceiling, is made of maple panels.
Cabinets in the kitchen and racks in the sleeping area organically resonate with each other. The overall effect of the design is simply stunning! The apartment, although very modest in footage, but it seems quite spacious.
Housing under the roof for a long time is covered with charms of romance. Modern design technologies allow, without breaking this emotional coloring, to give to such small rooms a cozy nobility and a special style.
