Unforgettable trip to norway

The choice of destination was almost random. In late May, I, as usual, browsed the thematic sites in search of a place that would inspire me to adventure. Quite by chance I came across a photograph of the most strange and interesting area I have ever seen. Quite quickly I learned that the area is called the Lofoten Islands, which is in Norway. I immediately decided that I should go there as soon as possible.

After a short search, I found a ticket from Wideroe Airlines called "Getting to Know Norway". This tour provides two weeks of unlimited flights on the airline's airplanes within Norway (and airlines fly to all corners of the country), which gives you the opportunity to visit all places that otherwise you would not be able to visit.

With this opportunity on hand, I decided that I could expand my horizons and start a trip with Tromsø, and then go south. Despite the fact that I was in Norway more than once, I have never been to Bergen or Stavanger. And, of course, the Lofoten Islands were the key destination on this journey.

So the scheme of my trip looked like this: Tromso —> Lofoten Islands —> Given —> Stavanger

"Wanderings will force the power and love to return to your life" - Jalal Ad-din Rumi.

Tromso

Coordinates: 69 ° 39'07 "N 18 ° 57'12" E.

Tromso

The city center looks very nice, but the surrounding area is even better. Without much difficulty, you can cycle the whole island and cross the bridges one and the other side, if you want. Wherever you look, the views are magnificent. In summer, you can see the luxurious meadows, covered with flowers, against the background of snow-drenched mountains. And among all this - the sea and ponds with a calm, almost mirror-like surface.

In winter everything is different here, but not less beautiful.

Ersfordbotn

Sommaroya

Here it is worth noting that even though the sea water can tempt you to swim, its temperature never rises above 8-10 degrees Celsius!

The sea here is so beautiful that you can easily imagine that you are somewhere in the Caribbean.

Landing in Leknes

First we went to O, on the very edge of the Lofoten archipelago, where we decided to stay for the duration of our stay on the islands.

I really hope that you have enough patience to finish reading to the end of my story - I would like to share with you amazing discoveries. Let's start our adventure.

Ideal coast of Norway

Ramberg. This is one of the first settlements through which you will pass along the road to the south-western extremity of Lofoten.

Not the worst first sight, is it?

Where to begin?

Let's start with the Moskenezoya and the Rhine species. Photos of these two small islets in the southern part of the archipelago, you will most likely see first of all, scoring the word "Lofoten" in the search engine. It is easy to understand why - the sea water here is absolutely crystal clear.

Forest Reinebringen

Not the most difficult test with which you will meet here (although it is recommended to be at least in a tolerable physical form for climbing), but from this walk to the mountain is only more fun. It took us an hour to climb, and about the same amount you will spend on descent, because on the road you will find rubble and slippery stones, because of which you can get into a small collapse if you are not careful.

The ascent to the Rhinebringen mountain is quite steep - to put it mildly.

Unforgettable trip to Norway

Do not hurry to leave when you get to the top. The view from here is at least spectacular. The pictures below, I hope, will give you an idea of what beauty opens before your eyes when you stand on the very edge.

Probably, it is not necessary to talk about it, but if you are going to come here, good shoes, suitable for long and difficult transitions - one of those things that you should pack in suitcases. If you forget these shoes at home, you will miss it very much, believe me.

I think this photo below perfectly reflects my impression of the trip. The picture was taken at the top of the Rhinebringen overlooking the Kjerkfjorden waters. I do not have enough words to describe this impression, but ...

There is something mystical about Lofoten ...

Wherever you look, beauty everywhere

Wherever you look, you will see something that will completely fascinate you. In a literal sense. The photo above is a picture taken on the small island of Stør Bueja, on the way to our next hike, a view to the west.

Below is a picture taken in the same place, a view to the east.

Kvalwick's Beach

In the summer time is your ally. The sun never sets. With this in mind, we decided to make a trip to the beach of Kvalvik (located in the south-western part of Lofoten) - a place which, as I heard, has no equal. Although there are not too many tourists on the Lofoten Islands (surprisingly little, in fact), it is always better to leave the road behind and get the muscles to work, making their way to some interesting place. This is one of those areas, which you can reach by taking a wonderful walk.

The sun was shining brightly, and we set out on a journey in the evening, so that the sun's rays shone from the mountains ahead, promising to open a beautiful view when we get closer.

Look what we saw around the corner.

On the way to the beach we were waiting for the sheep. Where else, you ask, you can have such a good time?

We stopped (on the five hundred and seventy-fourth time in a day) on the way back to O, to see the midnight sun illuminating the peaks of the mountains.

Such a sight I could see in my dreams.

Below you can see a stunningly beautiful view of the beach of Uttakleyv. In 2010, the Times newspaper called this beach the most romantic in the world.

Just look at the color of the water.

Eggum

The warmth of the warm sun and a bottle of Arctic Beer from Macks Ølbryggeri brewery complemented the magic of the evening.

The majestic black and white landscape

Below you will see a couple of pictures taken in the village of O, where we lived while on the island. It's a very private place. Here, at the southern extremity of the archipelago, you can not go anywhere by car or any other land transport.

The majestic black and white landscape

This is a great place for those who want to feel the true spirit of the Lofoten islands.

The tourist hotel in which we stayed was remarkably located. It is especially convenient in summer, in the white nights season, when you want to take full advantage of the bright part of the day, find that all hiking trails are just behind the turn.

I go for a walk

Red houses on the coast

I regret to leave this legendary place. I am happy that I managed to survive all these unforgettable moments and to keep beautiful views in my heart. I'll be back soon. This place has firmly occupied the third place in my list of the best places to visit, and, honestly, I have never seen anything like it before, it is absolutely unique.

From Lofoten we left with sadness, and with joy.

Given, Stavanger

Given

Between October 29, 2006 and January 21, 2000, it rained daily for 85 consecutive days

Given

Rain is also beautiful, you know.

Fish market

Yes, of course, there are a lot of tourists and all that ...

... but at the same time, it's good, because it is part of the charm of this place.

Улицы Givenа

The guy with the skateboard

I really like to take pictures of the streets of cities that I visit for the first time ...

... This gives a very clear idea of how people live here - in my humble opinion.

Very beautiful facade of the building

Climbing Mount Preikestolen

Gora Prekestulen

However, somewhat worried about the heavy clouds over our heads, we nevertheless began our ascent, considering that this is our only chance. Luckily and to our great relief, the rain ended about ten minutes after we started.

Now all we had to do was get to the top of Prekestulen.

This mountain path is quite popular with tourists, and along the way we met many people. The terrain here is very diverse, and I can assure you that here you will not be bored. When you get to the more stony stretch of the road (about the last quarter of the path), the wind begins to rise - as you can see in the photo below.

A little further along the road - and that's the purpose of our journey.

Excellent ending of a great trip.

Beautiful street in flowers

The conclusion is the way home

This trip would not have been so wonderful without your participation, thank you.

Fly home!
