The interior of a small studio requires the availability of places for storage and secluded corners, even if it is an apartment that is used only during holidays and weekends. Implement this idea in an area of ​​25 square meters. meters - it's like solving an intricate puzzle.

To: The wall separating the kitchen, from the living space, made a compact and already compact apartment. Owners - young spouses - knew for sure that it was the extension of the living room that should become the key to creating a comfortable interior.

The couple asked for help from designer Daniel Perkins, who worked out all possible options, came to the conclusion that the opening connecting the kitchen and the living room should be expanded, thus completely changing the layout of the studio.

Below is a picture taken from the entrance to the apartment. The sofa, the fragment of which we see on the right, is actually an advertiser. This means that it is equipped with a special system that allows you to change the position of the backrest with a single press of a button and push out a comfortable footrest.

Pick an ideal bed was very difficult. For the head of the family, whose growth exceeds 180 centimeters, the availability of a comfortable sleeping box was one of the priorities.

Several options were considered, including a folding bed and a bed on pulleys that can be lifted to the ceiling in those times when it is not used. The largest number of votes won in the end a gray folding sofa with a 20-centimeter mattress.

"This is the maximum height for a sofa bed mattress," Perkins explains.

Light stools are used as seating areas and coffee tables. The purchase of a stationary table was considered inexpedient, since the sofa is unfolding.

The horizontal wardrobes above the wardrobe easily accommodate two surfboards and two beach loungers. Perkins changed the design of the wardrobe, replacing one of its sections with a built-in chest of drawers, which is used to store spare clothing. Thanks to this decision, the spouses have the opportunity to get out in San Diego quite spontaneously and lightly.

The TV is fixed to the swing arm, so you can watch it from anywhere in this small apartment.

The designer has managed to pick up compact household appliances, so that there is enough space in the kitchen to install full cabinets. Tiny sliding compartments to the left of the plate are equipped with recessed handles, which allows boxes of perpendicularly standing cabinet to open unobstructed.

Vinyl flooring is not afraid of moisture and sand, which can get into the apartment from the beach.

The worktop, assembled from several granite panels, has rounded end faces. It is much cheaper than a monolithic plate, but at the same time it is not inferior to it in practicality.

The owner of the apartment has chosen a tile for facing the apron, which, she says, resembles a mermaid's scales, deciding that it will look ideal in a country interior. And these expectations were fully justified.

Fish in the aquarium - a live decoration for the time of the photo session. The couple wanted to keep her, but there would be nobody to take care of her in their absence.

These charming retractable cells were made by the owner of the house herself. They store spices.

Porcelain door handles in the form of squid are painted by hand. They contribute to maintaining the beach theme in the interior, without making it too intrusive.

The built-in bench near the window is supplemented by a number of amenities: a separate TV, reading lamp and sockets.

A roomy compartment under the seat is used to store a beach umbrella and other things. A special configuration of the bench is designed to provide residents with free movement around the kitchen.

The previous layout of the bathroom was not very comfortable, and there was not enough space to store the necessary things. Especially annoying owners of the built-in shower head, located too high.

Now the bathroom has a modern shower with a long hose, and the owners of the apartment note that it is especially convenient for him to wash sand off his feet. Facing of artificial marble is very easy to care for.

A mirror cabinet with a width of 90 centimeters accommodates all necessary accessories, so that horizontal surfaces can remain free. The curtain length from ceiling to floor adds a visual height to the space, while the original granite countertop form provides an additional area for storing small items.

Compact interiors are always a storehouse of design dilemmas, but it is because of this that Daniel Perkins so willingly takes up their design.
