What are curtains pleated

Pleated blinds were invented in Germany several decades ago, more precisely, in the 80s of the last century. These are curtains made of corrugated paper or cloth. They are also called pleated blinds.

Their peculiarity is that the design allows them to be applied on non-standard shapes and window sizes (triangular, oval, trapezoidal), in mansard windows at any angle. The construction of the fasteners allows to install them on inclined surfaces.

Plisset - small parallel folds.

Plisset - small parallel folds. The design of curtains allows you to lower and collect the cloth by pulling the cord. In advanced versions, the curtains rise remotely from the console.

Spacious bathroom

Relative ease of installation of curtains-plisse allows you to install curtains in any room with one cloth on the whole window or on individual openings.

There are two types of pleated curtains: horizontal and vertical. Choose them depends on the shape and size of the window. In addition, using a horizontal or vertical texture, you can visually adjust the size of the room.

Benefits of Pleated Curtains:

  • low cost;
  • simplicity of installation;
  • they are suitable for all designs of plastic windows;
  • Because of the material, they perfectly pass sunlight even in the closed state;
  • there are models of blackout that do not let light waves in at all;
  • In the market there are models with a variety of lifting mechanisms and sensors;
  • a wide range of colors and patterns;
  • they are easy to make by themselves.
Functional design of windows

By setting the curtains on each individual opening of the window, you can adjust the illumination in the room at your discretion.

Spacious veranda

A rich palette of curtain-pleated colors, a strict, finished look, allows you to harmoniously fit curtains into any interior, from industrial LOFT to aristocratic modern.

Blinds are made of plush paper or fabric. Fabric curtains are easier to care for, but their cost is an order of magnitude higher. The fabric is made of synthetic, more often polyester. It does not burn out in the sun, does not deform and is easily washed. Paper models cost a bit, but are difficult to maintain, since they can not be washed. According to many owners, they are easier to replace with new ones than clean. In addition, the paper actively absorbs fat, so it is not recommended to hang curtains in it in the kitchen.

Contrast accents

Modern painting technology and special protective impregnation of fabric, assumes a long service life without fading.

Curtains pleated "day-night" - this is a relatively new model. To produce it, a special material is used, which, thanks to a special coating, reflects the sun's rays, but misses the moon and artificial light. The room will be pleasant twilight around the clock without heat.

Curtains pleated in the interior

Curtains pleated will be appropriate in any modern interior. A huge assortment of colors and patterns makes it possible to choose exactly what you need for an interior in a certain style.

Choose them is quite difficult, but here are some tips on how to buy the right curtains:

  1. For country interior choose light fabrics with a fine floral print.
  2. For a room in the Rococo style, it's worth taking a pastel shade, ideally blue or pink, with a stencilled pattern, monograms or floral wreaths. You can add embroidered lambrequins to the curtains - this will not affect the functionality, but will add atmospheric.
  3. For a house in Asian style, you can take monochrome curtains with an ethnic print (sakura flowers, cranes, dragons and tigers).
  4. For a home in Romanesque style, choose a rich color and rich texture: dark blue, burgundy, purple, chocolate with vegetable print.
  5. For children there are many prints with cartoon characters and comics.
  6. For modern interior choose single-color or striped colors.
  7. For a hi-tech style, laconic colors are perfect: white, black, dark brown. But if the apartment is made in a restrained color scheme, it is the bright coloring of curtains and accessories (pillows, paintings, textiles) that can become a color accent.

Such blinds are perfect for living room, bedroom, nursery and kitchen. Due to their brevity, they are also suitable for office or shop.

We make pleated blinds with our own hands

Curtains pleated have a very simple design, so they can be made at home even without specialized skills.

Pleated fabric for curtains is sold in rolls, so it is easy enough to attach it to the bar and mount it on the window opening. But the technology of making them from paper is a more complicated and laborious process.

As a material for curtains, it is better to use thick wallpaper for painting. On them you can use any stencils or a brush to represent any print.

To make it you will need:

  • wallpaper in calculation: the height of the window * 2;
  • two bars equal to the width of the window;
  • thick nylon thread;
  • punch or awl;
  • glue.

First you need to accurately calculate the size of the curtains. The width of the paper will be equal to the width of the window. The length of the paper web should be twice the height of the window opening. Place the paper on a flat surface, if it is wrinkled, it can be ironed. Using a ruler draw parallel lines every 2 cm.

On the drawn lines, bend the paper. For greater rigidity and clarity of lines, each room can be ironed without steam.

With a hole or an awl, draw two parallel rows of holes along the edges of the paper along the ribs of the fold. Thread them with a thick needle. It is worth remembering that the distance between the filaments should not be more than 50 cm. If the width of the window is larger - it is worth making 3 or 4 rows of threads.

Bottom edge of the paper is glued to the bar, there to fix the thread. You can use conventional PVA glue. On the second lath attach the attachment and fit the top edge of the paper. Fix the threads. Curtains pleated are ready.

The simplest option is to order curtains in the workshop.

They will accurately remove the measurements, select the material, make a print, mount the lifting mechanism and install it on the window opening.

Paper blinds pleated - this is a modern model that requires minimal maintenance, but at the same time is universal and practical.
