A small cozy house, located in the north of Portland amid the picturesque nature, is itself part of its surroundings. Covering the moss and ferns replaced the shattering tiles and now reliably protects the house from the weather and keeps the heat inside. And it's easy to understand why designer Jessica Helgerson and all her family members loved him so much.

"In the winter, you have to open the windows, because the oven sometimes works too well," says Helgerson. The white oak floor and large walnut table add warm colors to the background formed by snow-white walls and lockers. To heat a small house, a wood-burning stove is enough.

The open-plan room is simply amazing. It unites the kitchen, dining room and living room. Together with her husband, Jessica developed recessed into the walls sofas with drawers.

"We think that if the thing is ugly and does not bring any benefits, then we do not need it," the hostess says. The bedroom, located under the roof itself, forces us to think twice about the decisions about the placement of certain items.
