Africa has long remained a "conserved" continent that has not been affected by other cultures. Therefore, the style, formed on these expanses, retained its primitiveness and archaism. The dwellings of the indigenous tribes are usually laconic, as the locals could not afford the luxury and delicacies. It is this simplicity that attracts the attention of spoiled representatives of a more civilized society. Of course, modern African style in the interior combines the features of many European destinations with elements of local culture, that is, the situation does not pretend to be authentic. Ethnic is the maximum imitation of authentic "interiors" of African dwellings. Since, unfortunately, most Africans live far beyond the poverty line, people accustomed to the benefits of civilization are unlikely to convert their comfortable apartments into adobe huts. The colonial direction is a quintessence of African and European culture. Popularization of the style was largely promoted by the cultural founders of modernism, cubism and abstractionism. Among artists, Africa was glorified as a continent that managed to maintain a strong connection with nature. In this style, it was easy to find the simplicity to which the painters of the new era gravitated, and inimitable color, admiring with its light naivety. Even so far, African culture is considered exotic. In the interiors of its influence is not so often. Designers consider the African style, as an option "for a courageous lover," which is chosen only by those who soul has become attached to the "black continent".

From the ethnic African style, two sub-directions were separated:

Так как африканский пейзаж состоит преимущественно из голой, растрескавшейся земли с редкими раскидистыми деревьями, зеленые кроны или синие источники с водой встречаются на нем редко.

But for designers who need to make mud houses from comfortable apartments, the task becomes more complicated, since from modern materials it is necessary to create something similar to a primitive finish.

       

Walls
