In Russia, more than enough truly unique places. One of these is the Stolbchaty Cape in the Kuriles. This UNESCO site is a unique geological formation in the form of a solid stone ledge rising on the beach. Outpoured volcanic rocks formed narrow 4, 5 and 6-coal basalt columns, the so-called columnar separations. At the foot of the columnar wall, in disarray, polished bars lie, like sawed wood.
The coastal platform, lined with sea waves creates illusion of the pavement, and surviving from destruction single pillars are similar to the remains of a broken fence. It's amazing that such an ideal composition was created by the accident of nature, it is impossible to believe that the columnar structure is formed by the flowing down here once upon a time lava flows. If you look at the "pavement" from above, you can see that the breed is simultaneously divided not only into columnar units, but also into larger similar segments with even sides.
Near Stolbchatyi produces an amazing and absolutely indelible impression. In the Kuriles in general, terrestrial magnetism and a sense of novelty are affected by strange things with the tourist's mind, thanks to which everything is realized only when viewing photos and videos upon returning home. But Stolbchaty and here ahead of the whole planet - in addition to delight, located on his basalt "cobblestones" a person clearly feels a powerful and partly humiliating impact of wild and unbridled nature.
